Movement & Muscles
What moving actually does for you — beyond burning anything.

Movement is not a payment for eating. Every body size can move, and rest days count as part of training.

Muscles are metabolic neighbourhoods
Muscle fibres contract by sliding protein filaments past each other, powered by ATP. Working muscle pulls glucose out of the blood, which is one reason activity helps blood-sugar control quickly — often the same day.
Muscles also release myokines, signalling molecules that reduce inflammation and communicate with bone, fat and brain.

Strength, breath and balance
Resistance work builds and keeps muscle, which supports joints and bone density. Aerobic work makes the heart pump more per beat and grows the capillary network feeding muscle.
Balance and mobility work quietly protect your future independence. All three matter more than intensity for its own sake.

Small doses count
Breaking up long sitting with short walks measurably improves how your body handles a meal. Ten gentle minutes is a real dose, not a rounding error.
Consistency beats heroics: the plan you can repeat on a tired Tuesday is the plan that changes anything.
